A little bit about me...

Hi, I’m Jessie — a freelance graphic designer, professional over-thinker, and firm believer that summer is better than winter. I work with clients on branding, illustration, typography, and all the little visual details that make a project feel intentional. I specialize in creating thoughtful, distinctive visuals that make brands feel like themselves, whether that means developing a logo from scratch, illustrating something weirdly specific, or obsessing over two pixels that absolutely no one else will notice.

 

For the past 4+ years, I’ve also worked professionally as a mural painter at Colossal Media, painting large-scale artwork for commercial advertisements. There’s something about taking a design from a screen and putting it on a 30-foot wall that teaches you pretty quickly that “zooming in” only gets you so far. Working at that scale has sharpened my eye for composition, color, typography, and — perhaps most importantly — figuring out how to make a design even stronger when you’re standing 20 feet away from it.​ That experience has become a big part of how I approach design today. I like work that feels tangible, has a strong visual point of view, and can hold its own whether it’s on a business card, a screen, or the side of a building.

Outside of design, I’m drawn to all things vintage — from thrift stores and old motorbikes to Bob Seger records. I’m a summer person through and through, usually dressed in black, and happiest near the water, even if my surfing skills still have a lot of catching up to do.
